The VDay collection will be released on Monday, February 6th at 7 p.m. EST at SOLSTICESCENTS.COM. It is a modest size. There are a few new things and a few returning things but I don't tend to do enormous VDay collections since Spring takes forever to test and make and is a lot larger. As previously mentioned, I also have to juggle taxes and my continuing ed for my real estate license so there are just not enough hours in the day sometimes! I hope that something here whets your appetite though.
I want to say this collection is similar to the small Autumn Gourmand Collection release we did (with Black Mallow, Blackburn Farmstead, etc) in that I'm not going to be actively restocking any of the ganache, glace, whipped soap or bar soap. I will try to restock perfume where supply allows. The reason for this is so that I can jump straight into spring crafting and still have time for the taxes and ed. We have a lot of amazing stuff in the works for spring and if you're a forum member, you can get more details on the direction we're headed in there. :)
We went cherry crazy this year (which is only slightly less insane than plum crazy haha). We have a cherry for the foodies, a cherry for those who are in between gourmand and dark notes and a cherry that is very very dark and dangerous. The cherry on top is that there is also a new sensual perfume that has nothing to do with cherries - read on!
CHERRY CORDIAL - Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Maraschino Cherries & Black Cherry. Contains cocoa absolute.
A medly of black cherries and maraschino cherries enrobed in milk and dark chocolate. The scent of our popular soap now available in Perfume, Body Ganache, Burnishing Glace and Whipped Soap! Two different kinds of chocolate absolute are added to this blend to enhance the rich cocoa note. The whipped soap and bar soap contain Organic Fair-Trade Cocoa Powder. The blend starts out with a heavier cherry note but quickly settles down into a very nice gourmand blend of both chocolate and cherry. Juicy, sweet and edible smelling!
Previously only offered in a bar soap. This was offered on a very small scale in some body products early on in the SS online career but the majority of our customers have not been able to purchase anything but the bar soap.

CHERRY VANILLA AMBEROSIA - Sweet Cherries, Rich Vanilla, Amber & Mandarin Orange Slices
Offered year round as one of our popular darker gourmand perfumes, this scent will be available in the oft-requested Ganache and also as a Glace for the first time! If you love this scent, now is your chance to purchase companion products.
This perfume is a blend of 2 different ambers, black cherries, maraschino cherries, vanilla fragrance and absolute and a tiny hint of sweet mandarin orange slices. A burst of cherry followed by a deep vanilla greets you on initial application. A subtle orange note emerges shortly thereafter. The dry down is a very soft incensey amber-cherry combo with a subtle sweetness from the vanilla. Contains vanilla absolute, sweet orange essential oil, tangerine essential oil and fragrance oils.
Citrus oils are phototoxic so do not apply liberally prior to an extended day in the sun.

Dramatic sigh. This scent is so sexy. I have been wearing the pants off of this one and I'm sure there is a euphemism there but I am going to take the high road and tantalize you with describing the intense richness of this blend instead. This is one of our first dual concept fragrances. It is meant to embody the luxurious decadence of black forest cake and the dark secluded imagery of the Black Forest in Germany. The focus was on rich exotic wood notes in lieu of conifer notes to represent the forest. Black Forest is very heavy on the woods. On initial application the cherries are detectable but they quickly fall into a chasm of deep dark notes that serve to tame the gourmand element of this blend. The agarwood and nagarmotha prop up the sweet notes and are the next to be discovered. Nagarmotha essential oil is a divine cross that strikes somewhere between vetiver and agarwood. It evokes a rare and precious wood note. The tobacco and hay absolutes are the next notes to emerge quickly after detection of the aforementioned notes. They wrap the other oils in a cozy, warm, dry and dusty blanket. This is the point where Black Forest turns most dry and smells like a humidor housing a very fine and exceedingly dark chocolate cherry pipe tobacco. The scent stays in this phase for a little while but as your skin warms it, the ethereal billows of the fluffiest whipped cream waft far in the background and sweeten the blend of woods to the point that it begins to smell like a wonderful unlit incense stick coupled with the pipe tobacco. The gourmand notes end up receeding tremendously though they are invaluable to the overall character of this scent.
This is not a standard foodie scent. If you like dark fragrances with these notes, try this unusual and enticing fragrance. It is full of character and depth. After a few hours on the skin it turns a lot sweeter when the whipped cream note is most apparent but the woods keep it grounded and it stays a super delicious incensey scent.
Black Forest is offered in Perfume only due to extremely pricey and precious exotic oils (which are not used sparingly at all!)
VIOLET TRUFFLE - Dark Chocolate, Violet, Violet Leaf & Vanilla Absolute
Offered year round as a General Catalog Perfume, Violet Truffle will be restocked as a Ganache in order to coincide with the V-Day release.
Dark chocolate violet ganache truffles topped with a violet-vanilla infused sugar. On cold sniff and initial application, rich chocolate with a hint of wet and Earthy violet absolute draws you in. The soft powdery note of violet fragrance emerges then rises to hover just beneath the chocolate note. This is definitely a morpher and the vanilla-violet sugar sweet notes become more evident the longer this one is on the skin as the soft powdery violet note slowly retreats to the background. Contains cocoa and vanilla absolute, violet leaf absolute and fragrance.

GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE - Chocolate Cake, Coconut, Pecan & Vanilla
This is a return from last year. The downside is, one of the dominant oils in this blend was discontinued and I thought I had a lot more than I did and realized after I already made the perfume and ganache that I didn't have anymore (I never checked because I *KNEW* it was there...ack). So if you really want this, for fair warning I only have enough for a limited amount of Perfume and Body Ganache this year. When it sells out, it's gone for good and I can't make anymore. This will be offered as a sample in the freebies at checkout and for sample purchase but it is a buy at your own risk in the sample since I can't guarantee a full size will be available should you decide you want one. The good news is that a ton of people bought this scent last year so I think most of our regular customers already have it in their collection so the supply I have may indeed by adequate for everyone. I just don't know for sure! I'm so sorry for the inconvenience on this one. I had intended to offer this in a Whipped Soap and Glace like last year but it just isn't in the cards.
Description: Moist layers of rich chocolate cake filled with mouth watering coconut and pecan icing. Starts out with a strong burst of chocolate followed closely by coconut. This scent is a morphing journey! After about 10 - 15 minutes the scent is soft German chocolate cake which lasts for some time. The longer this oil is on the skin, the sweeter and more vanilla it will lean. This fragrance eventually turns into a delicious sweet vanilla cake. The vanilla fragrance comes from the all natural mouth-watering vanilla absolute. Contains cocoa and vanilla absolute and fragrance oils.

NIGHTGOWN - Vanilla, White Chocolate, Tuberose & Tiare Flowers
A sensual and very creamy floral fragrance, Nightgown evokes the image of a gorgeous satin nightie with lace trim. It fits like a second skin and is the perfect attire for lounging and snuggling. This perfume is the representation of the fabric itself: beautiful, plush, sweet and delicate with white velvety petals from exotic flowers that entrance you with aphrodisiac qualities. The floral notes are very creamy, well rounded and tame while still being detectable and not too heady, sharp or perfumey. The dominant notes are a vanilla accord blended with a touch of divine white chocolate. The floral notes are present on initial application and for some time on the skin though on the long term dry down they will recede and the vanillas and white chocolate will be predominant. If you like the vanilla accord in Manor and Snowshoe Pass, it makes a striking appearance in this blend! Nightgown is wispy, innocent and mysterious at once - like feathers and a gently strummed harp.
Perfume only. Due to limited components, Nightgown is a limited release. Unfortunately, I ordered a small quantity of one of the oils in this blend to produce a test batch/prototype and when I went to order the larger quantity I needed, I was told the oil is out of stock and the components will take two weeks to arrive from Europe. So, I was able to snag a very small amount of oil this supplier still had left in order to have enough to offer for this release but when my supply runs out, it is unlikely I will have more, at least not anytime soon. If this scent receives positive feedback, I may offer it again in the future but for now, this is it! I will have samples like the German Chocolate Cake but there is an element of risk involved with purchasing the sample since I may or may not have a full size available. I think I have a decent amount though and unlike the German Chocolate Cake, this is something I could make again in the future.
BLOOD BATHORY SALTS - Palmarosa, Geranium, Jasmine, Chamomile, Rosewood, Pink Grapefruit
Not to be used by women who are pregnant or nursing or those prone to hayfever (due to the chamomile EO).
These are a part of our rotating General Catalog and I thought they would be perfect to bring back for V-Day (my bloody valentine *rimshot*). Blood Bathory is not quite as strong as some of our other salts as the fragrance is made with gentle essential oils. It is a mild, relaxing grapefruit scent coupled with white tea like floral notes. The water transforms red as soon as these salts hit the water! With the exception of just a few drops of jasmine fragrance oil, this scent is an all natural blend of essential oils.
Description: Blood Bathory is not just a macabre novelty that turns your bath water the color of watered down blood, it also contains a powerhouse of antioxidant essential oils, green tea powder and a silky blend of oatmeal and coconut milk powder. It is a combination of essential oils of pink grapefruit, white grapefruit, palmarosa, geranium bourbon, peru balsam, roman chamomile, rosewood and jasmine with a few drops of jasmine fragrance oil. The fragrance is a light tart citrus coupled with a tea like mild floral. If you like Victorian Tea Room, this is in a similar vein. A relaxing bath best used before bed or to ease nervous tension due to the sedative properties in the chamomile essential oil. Topped with dried rose petals.
